The Incubator

This is a picture of the top of the incubator. As you can see, it is made of Styrofoam and it has 2 long windows so I can keep an eye on what is going on inside! It is called a Little Giant and my friend Rosie loaned it to me.

In this picture you see the inside. It holds about 42 eggs. The circular wire is the heater. The black thing is a monitor...

..which measures temperature and humidity. Both are EXTREMELY important in getting the fertilized eggs to hatch!

..and this is the egg turner. During the first 2+ weeks of incubation it is very important to turn the eggs 2-3 times a day. This does it for me.
