A Gift!
Schiro has eye cancer, but thankfully it was caught early. A&M did radiation treatment and he may need one more next month. I took this picture of him before he was sedated and am having it blown up into a small poster for Debbie.
She is having major computer problems - so I know she will not see it before I get it to her later this week! It came out cute - don't you think??? Especially since he was in FULL Winter Coat mode!

Texas A&M Equine Hospital
Today I spent the day with one of my best friends, Debbie. I trailered one of her horses to Texas A & M Equine hospital in College Station, TX. Her horses name is Shiro. This was not an emergency, but an appointment for a condition that needed to be dealt with.
After we entered the large building, the first stop was the weighing station. Shiro weighed in at a "healthy" 1050 pounds!
Next we walked to the exam room.
There were halls of different types of exam rooms throughout this facility...
and every inch of it was immaculate. The floors were covered in thick rubber mats.
In the exam rooms, the horses were walked into these chutes, where they can be safely handled.
Shiro looked and sniffed around..
He was a little bit worried..
.until the meds kicked in!
The doctors took good care of Shiro. We had to leave him there for several hours, but picked him up that afternoon. He was such a good boy!
