Well - I took every ones advice and called Don's doctor. He had kind of a funny reaction though...kind of a combination of being relieved that Don was not ill and yet I felt as though he was also saying "Is that all?" Don't get me wrong. He did not say that ...it was just a feeling I had.
I told him that on the weeks we had a Tuesday appointment he without one exception had the lab work to review..yet as in this week, here it was Wednesday and the lab work was not even in his office yet. He said that there was no different protocol and that they were at the mercy of the lab. When the results were in, they were automatically faxed over to his office.... His office staff must show him the lab results and he has to sign off on them before they can be faxed over to me. I called and I know the results are there...but do not know what they say. I still do not have my copy of the fax. It is Thursday 4:55 PM.

That is frustrating, after all you are paying for the tests and the results. Can you go to the lab directly and get a copy of the results, or do you have to wait for the dr to get them first?
Well, maybe it's nothing serious and that's why they're not faxing it? I don't know...it's frustrating though!! I'm sure for you but I'm getting frustrated now. I bet you'll get it tomorrow!
I've always heard "No news is good news".....this is what I am hoping for...
Try not to worry too much about what the nurse (or whoever) might be thinking. You have to be Don's advocate, and some times that means being the squeeky wheel. In the past, when I didn't get the info I needed from the nurse, I'd just say, "OK, I hope you don't mind if I call again tomorrow. I'm really worried and just need to know." That way they know you'll be calling again, and again until you get it. I try to be assertive, but not itchy (if you know what I mean).
Patricia :o)
I can sense your frustration as I read your words ... I've been in situations like this in my own life. I know you need information to flow in the most efficient way possible .... your emotional well being depends on it. You did what you needed to do and hopefully things will improve because of that.
I think Patricia has the right idea. Let them know you'll be calling. Maybe if you take them some chocolates they'll befriend you. Tell them how great they are (even if they're not). Sometimes it takes a little honey to catch those flies. Just a thought anyway.
Hugs, Susan
I'm sure very frustrating....which you really shouldn't have to deal with right now...
