Last year Cindy from Romantic Homes posted the most beautiful Window Box I had ever seen ....but the price was not quite so beautiful!
I could not stop thinking of that window box though, so I started my search for a more economical version.
You see, we have 2 perfect windows on either side of the second story of our barn that were just crying for a window box.
After an extensive search, I finally found 2 matching window boxes (that were the correct length of the window at Garden Ridge Pottery!
The ones I bought were a mere $15 or $18 each..verses over $100.00 each for the ones on the web sight I had been drooling over!
My goal was to make the flowers in the window box the beautiful attraction instead of the window box itself anyway! This window box looks a bit like the ones I bought...
..and here is mine! This is one of the boxes decked out with summer plants...
..and this is what I did for Christmas decor!
...Hummmm - what wonderful plants should I choose this year? I am thinking maybe some more color!

I have had a sour dough bread starter before, and the bread always turned out good. I have always gotten my starter for this bread from a friend. However, this particular starter was one I got from a bakery that makes all kinds of breads. The owner gave me a starter and also gave a couple of my friends a starter. I just found out today that not only did my own bread not turn out right but their bread didn't rise either. I think you are probably right about the yeast having died in the starter, as the starter never did bubble very much and never did have a strong fermented odor to it. Something went wrong and that's for sure.
I would love to have your bread recipes if it's not too much trouble. I may never get the nerve to try to make bread again after this bad experience. For that reason I wouldn't want you to go to any trouble to give me the recipes.

I love how you decorated them for Christmas. I bet some Poinsetta's would be pretty in there as well. I'm not much of a Flower person myself. I used to have alot of Houseplants years ago and did really good with them. My Mother and MIL both have Flowers in the Spring and Summer and they do a good job with them. "THANK YOU" for sharing your Window Boxes with us. I really enjoyed them. I was looking at your previous post about milk. Have you ever tried Skim Milk? My Parents drink Skim Milk all the time. I used to, but I couldn't take it. LOL. I had to go back to something a little more tastier. Take care my friend and have a great evening. julie it is a treat to see window boxes filled with flowers in the winter season! I have a window box out front I place in the middle railing of my front veranda...in summer it spills with colors of pink lavender and white!! Oh I can't wait after seeing yours!
