When do you take down your Christmas decorations?

I usually start the weekend after Christmas, but try not to be in too big a hurry. For one thing, I take special care in repacking all of my beloved decor and if I need to buy a few more storage containers, then some things do not get put away until I have them.

I like to take down our Christmas decorations as quickly as I can. Usually a day or 2 after Christmas. An empty Christmas tree is kind of sad looking to me.

Like you Julie I begin after New Years day. As you said it is a slow process to wrap each treasure carefully and organize for easy access next Christmas..that sounds strange..(next Christmas) almost like wishing our life away!
I also decorate with fresh pinecones and forever brances with red berries that I leave up to carry me through the dark grey days of winter. The red throughout the house cheers me up.
All the best to you in the coming New Year. I am so pleased that we have met through out blogging! hugs NG

Good Evening Julie,
We take down our Christmas decorations after the first of the year. Hubby started that when we first got married and we have done it ever since. It's always nice to have the tree on while we are celebrating New Year's Eve. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

I take down the decorations the day after Christmas. I dearly love the season but, oh, how tired I get of the rooms being congested and a bit "over the top". I love it all for a few days, but once the gifts are gone, my tree is the first thing to pack away. I, too, take special care in packing...there's some of those ornies that belonged to my grandchildrens GREAT Grandmother and I want to pass them down.
hugs, bj

I bought all new boxes today. I will start to take down small things at a time. I like to deep clean as I take down. My tree usually comes down the day after New years.

Yep around the same time! All in the same day though.

I would like to get them down right away but I get called the Grinch if I do it before New Years Day!

It depends, lately I've waited until the first week in January simply because I enjoy them more after Christmas than before! Once the hoopla is over with I like to sit and look at the tree, leisurely take down the decorations as time permits.

Advent tree out around Dec 1st, but nothing else until the Solstice or Christesmas Eve, down on 12th Night which means, unfortunately they are not up for Old Christesmas or Old New Year. I only have a small house & the real Christesmas Trees are left in the forest around me ~ inside trees are not a good idea with (now & not counting the puppies) 8 dogs & 5 cats!
