Crepe Myrtle

I am not a huge Crepe Myrtle fan, but the first time I saw this true red one, I knew it was the perfect plant for a very dry area we have out by our front gate. Now that they are mature, I am more pleased than I thought that I would be!

Oh what a beautiful Tree! I was not familiar with the crepe myrtle until I moved into a home that had one and the blooms were breath taking! Now I'd have to say it's my Favorite of all!

I had never seen a red crepe myrtle until a couple of years ago. (Or maybe I just wasn't paying attention, more likely). I think they are the prettiest ones of all, though. And I have YET to plant one. What's up with that? I planted 1 white one and 2 pink ruffled ones. Must make a note to remind myself...buy RED! lol

Well, I am a huge Crepe myrtle fan and I'm miss them so much from my days in Memphis. The don't survive so well here in Indiana, although there is a new breed that is supposed to do well in zone 5 I can't seem to get my hands on it. I will just her and envy yours!
