Getting Ready for the Memorial...

..and I don't mean Memorial Day! I am talking about my Father's Memorial Service. It was Dad's wish to be cremated..so that is what we did. We dressed him in his scrub suit... which I thought was fitting.. smile.. When someone wants to be cremated verses buried, it gives the family the luxury of time.. time to absorb everything that has happened.. time to cry .. and time to plan a detailed service on a date where most if not all can attend and this is what we did.

My heart is very sore right now.. but when I pray, I say Thank You to God more than I ever have. I am truly blessed!

I know you miss him, but I hope you take comfort in knowing where he is...with our Lord and with your Mom. I'm thinking of you!

Hugs,
Kat

so sad thinking that you are so sad. (((hugs))) and you are right, you were blessed with a great father.
I hope his memorial service is just as you would have it to be and that you and your family can find peace and comfort in each other.

Thinking of you Julie. I know this is such a sad time for you all. The past post with his story was just beautiful. What a fascinating life he led. You have been very lucky to share it with him. may he rest in peace in your mother's arms.

Milam was an icon in his professional field.Formost he was a doctor with commendable empathy. He was a great colleague who shared his humanism with us all.
An outstanding surgeon with many interests aside of medicine!
