Well - Don was discharged today and we went home. It was such a beautiful day, he laid outside in the lounge chair. After a while he came upstairs and fell asleep. He got up, ate something and sat on the sofa and watched TV. Again he fell asleep.
"Julie!" I heard him calling me.
"What?" I answered as I came around the corner.
"I think I have a fever again."
I ran to get the themometer and while I waited for it to record his temperature, I started to gather items to put BACK into the car. I also grabbed the phone and called his doctors answering service. Next I went back to Don and pulled the themometer out of his mouth... 101.5
"Get dressed," I said, "You are going to have to go back to the hospital."
Don looked up at me and his silence told me more than he realized.
When the doctor returned our call, he confirmed my thoughts and we were once again on our way back to the hospital emergency room...
..and now once again checked into the hospital for who knows how long...
"my bed..." I whimpered under my breath...
