Our Chicken Coop..

..is coming along. We put up the plywood roof, added shingles and painted the siding white..

..and here is where the fun begins! I started to put up the black trim...

..and hung 2 wire window baskets! Also got to work on the little chicken door.

This is the vintage nesting box that I bought when I was in Canton, TX last weekend.

I wish it had 3 nests instead of just 2..so maybe I will build one more later for our 6 hens.

My sister is a chicken rescuer - people dump off their old or unwanted chickens. She once took one of her oldest favorite hens to be put to sleep rather then let her suffer - the vet told her "now you know you cant eat her after we put her down"...my sister was appalled to say the least and never went to that vet again. She has a chicken "taj mahal" palace too, and probably would love the fancy hinges and special touches your putting on your "chicken palace" :)

Love your coop!

I'm putting window boxes on mine too. It's slow going because the weather has been yucky on weekends, and that's about the only time we can work on it :(

Somehow I knew your chicken house would look like the Poulet Chalet.

I love that little chicken door, way too cute! I can't wait to see the finished product.
