Please...Keep Praying

Still wrestling with a high fever 102 and up. They are in the process of culturing the infection to see exactly what strain of staff this is. The welt is still as large as it was when they started and for some reason his blood is clotting so fast, they are having trouble getting a white cell count on him. Even though I have education in the medical field, I am not sure what that indicates.

One of the volunteers made him a blanket and all the nurses want to rock him. Emily said that one of the nurses told her that she wanted to rock Trestin so he did not think that every time she came into the room it was to poke at him. Emily has remarked many times that the staff is exceptionally nice.

I don't think I told you this - but Trestin was moved to a larger hospital than the one they originally took him to.

Julie, how did this happen. What did the welp come from? A bug bite or something?

This is a horrible situation for this sweet child and his family. They must be sick with worry.

It is probably far-fetched, but is there any chance it could be Crohn's disease? My nephew developed a welt on his buttocks and I think there is an association with blood clotting, as well. It turned out to be Crohn's.

I will be praying for them.

Julie I'm so sorry to hear that he is still running a fever and in the hospital. I hope the doctors can get it under control soon. Sweet that the nurses all love him. He is such a cutie pie.

Hi Julie. I am at Al's and I thought I would do some catching up instead of my slow dial up in the country. I pray that Trestin's staph isn't MRSA and will continue to pray for him, Don, and you. I do hope you are feeling better. It hurts to see a baby so sick. Have they checked to see if he was bitten by a recluse spider? That can cause an infection like that--my son got bitten when he was 10 and it caused a staph infection. I pray he will be home soon and running instead of walking. Beautiful little boy. Love and Hugs, Pat
