Updates on Both of Us!

My Superman!Don's first new dosage of chemotherapy was last Saturday night. He did sleep though the night but by morning he was feeling the effects and was very sluggish. He did not get out of bed until it was time for me to leave for my riding lesson around noon. He walked me out and helped load the horses in the trailer. Thankfully they both just jumped in without incident. I was gone for several hours and when I came home I found him on his riding lawn mower. He had been mowing for a little more than an hour and excuse my language, but he looked like Holy Hell! He was very pale with red blotches on his face. He was just exhausted. I know how badly he wants to contribute to the farm work and do as much as he can, but I was not happy with him. He went upstairs, showered and crawled back into bed..where he stayed the rest of the day. Sadly , although Monday was a holiday for most of us, he had to work. Not only did he have to work, but he had to pull what is called a bell to bell (open to close shift) He told me that was the hardest day he had ever endured with his treatment yet...and I felt so sorry for him. By Wednesday though, thankfully his strength was returning a bit.

I still do not have a exact surgery date, but my pre-op tests are scheduled for Monday morning. I informed Don that he had to carry me up the stairs the day I come home from the hospital..just like newly-weds..umm if the bride drank too much maybe. ha ha..

Oh, Julie, with all this you still have a sense of humor. You're both in my prayers. Tell Don to say off the mower!

Hi Julie:
Oh poor guy, I hope he rests more and let the yard work go for now, if you have to.
How are the dealerships there? So many are closing out west.
I don't envy you at all, going through surgery. You are a brave gal.

You guys take care of each other. You both should take it easy. The yard will always be there. Lots of prayers and hugs for you both!
