Good and Interesting Things!

Interesting:
Anyone out there watch 11Th Hour? Last night it was on TV just after CSI and they discussed something Don has. It is called Gilbert (pronounced Gill-Bear) Syndrome. About 5% of the population has it, mostly males and it causes the body to have a slower liver function response. Normally it does not cause any really problems - but can cause the person to have yellow instead of white around the eyes. Given a choice, I would rather that Don NOT have this though since he has other liver issues.

Good:
Remember the bed set I showed you yesterday? Well I went to Kohl's to see it. I will not lie, the fabric was not quite as nice as it looks in the photo. It has more of a shine to it than I would have preferred...but it was still very beautiful. The ad price said the king size comforter set was $199.00 and the coverlet was $99.00. The in store price of the comforter set was only $179.00. Then since I opened up a charge account (to be paid off in full next month!) I received an extra 15% off...AND they had another promotion of scratch off discounts and that gave me another 10% OFF!!! The total price with tax ended up being just over $200.00!

That came out to a good price. I can't wait to see your pictures of your bed all done up.
Usually I watch "11th Hour" but I missed it last night. Darn.
Have a blessed weekend!

I had to come over and visit after seeing over on bj's sweet nothings blog that you are in need of prayers. I just read through all of your previous posts to catch up with what is going on. I am amazed at what you and Don are going through and how strong you are. Gotta be your faith. Stay strong in the Lord. I will keep you in my prayers as well. And will be back to visit to see how you are doing. I wish you both the best.

Hi Julie:
I have that Gilbert's syndrome and so does my daughter. It shows up with a high billirubin when I do blood tests. The dr. always says it is harmless...it's the way the liver processes the blood, but in the back of my mind, I wonder if it really is harmless. I don't have yellow eyes or any symptoms. Just the high billirubin.

Hi, I've been following some of your posts lately. I live on a farm too and am an animal nut. I must be a nut about gardening too because I can't stop. I just posted pics of a garden edging using broken dishes. You'll have to look.

Hi Julie,
I too was born and raised in Texas and miss it in a bad way...I live in Canada now b/c my husband was transfered back up by his company. He was working/living in Texas when we met. We live on a farm here and I have three horses, two dogs, three cats and a bird. I have one Appendix QH that is 19 and has been with me since he was 5 and two Arabian mares. One that is 9 that I have had since birth having leased her mother to breed her and one that is 5 that I have had for a year having rescued her. I am also a saddleseat/Saddlebred nut but am sad to say I have not been able to locate a saddleseat trainer in the Calgay area and have been really depressed by this. I rode at Winning Ways Farm with Koren before I came up to Canada. I really miss my lessons with her. I will not give up on owning a Saddlebred that I can ride and show one day b/c that is my dream. Anyway I love your blog and I was sorry to read about your mare and I am hoping your dogs are doing better and that your husband heals also. (I did start a blog about my mare that I rescued if you are interestd in reading it and I want to start one about the trials and sometimes funny episodes of a Texas girl living on a farm in Canada)

Wow! That's a GREAT deal!! I can't wait to see your ensamble. :O)

I don't know if I told you, but I'm in the hunt for bedding too.
I found a very nice set at Neiman Marcus. The coverlet was only $1540.00. Yep, I thought I'd get three or four...
