The Best Part of January...

..is Gardening! It is when I plan, buy and start seeds!

A friend sent me these heirloom tomato seeds that her Father improved.

Enlarge this picture and read the special story of how they came to be.

I bought a seed starter kit because I did not want to lose any of these plants.

It fascinates me to see something so tiny produce something so wonderful!

Here they are all snug and planted. I used the rest of the plugs to plant some flower seeds.

Great story about the seeds. Can't wait to see if you have some luck with them. If so, I want some seeds next year, okay?

BTW...I need some help with Super Bowl decorations in my formal dining room where we'll be putting the food this year. I've posted some pics of the room. Help!

Hugs!

I think the story of the seeds is pretty amazing...smuggled in from Japan so many years ago. I hope you have good luck with them. We can't even plant anything here until the latter part of May because of the cold spring. I've never tried starting from seed, I just buy the plants.

can't wait to see how the tomatoes turn out! Which reminds me. . . I need to order my seeds! granted I can't start tomatoes here for a couple more months, but I need to get on a roll with starting some other items! I'm thinking about starting a whole gardening blog in addition to Louie's, so watch for it!

I recently went out and bought a bunch of flower seeds. I usually just buy them in the packs but I can have TONS more for the same price if I start them inside! We can't plant outside until 2nd week in April so I'll start my seeds this weekend! Are you using a grow light or just a sunny window?
