This is Crazy!

I am so tired of seeing this sign!

I am at work and our office is functioning off of a generator. Roughly 1/3 of the work force is not here for one reason or another..but they all point in the direction of Ike!

Most do not have electricity. WE had it last night - but not this morning.

No electricity means no working gas pumps..

...and no gas makes it really hard to get to work!

I have 2 more days worth in my tank...and a few 5 gallon jugs I will have to share with Don.....after that....????

You are bringing back horrible memories for me. Hurricane Ivan. September 2004. Holt, Florida. Ivan was so Terrible, he stripped most of the trees bare of their leaves and those he didn't strip, he uprooted. No power for 9 days. No good water for even longer. Water pouring into our living room through the roof and into our sons' room - also from a hole in the roof.

I thought I was over all those nightmare thoughts. It's disturbing to hear about similar things again. I'm so glad that you are safe and sound though, and tell your daughter I'm very sorry about her apartment. Bless her heart. Smart girl, though, to have had renter's insurance!!

I hope your area of the world gets back to at least "semi-normal" as soon as possible. If you need anything from up this way, let me know!! Meanwhile, I'll keep thinking of you and wishing you the best!

OMGoodness, Julie, I know ya'll are having such hard times. What a terrible storm. so many folks having to do without so much. I join everyone else in prayer that things will be "fixed" very, very soon. And, of course, no gas, no work !! I don't know where you work but they may have to put a SORRY, CLOSED on their doors, too.

ooo, and if I thought they would survive the mail, I would send you roses from my garden!!

Hang on, sweetie...it WILL get better!

Cute idea for your blogging page, showing all the closed signs. You are keeping your sense of humor!!!
Pretty soon this will all be a bad dream (hopefully).

Oh gosh - I hope that things are put to rights soon!

Come to California - we just have the occasional pesky earthquake - the weather is always great though!

Hi Julie, aren't we glad the storm has passed, but so much to still be done. Hope all is well and I know the feeling of the 'CLOSED' signs, really frustrating!!

Julie, so glad you are back on line. It's hard looking at all the destruction every where and not crying. Your daughter sounds like mine---hard worker and I was so happy to hear she got renters insurance. Not many people think of that when they are young. I'm so glad you are all safe. Things can be replaced. Thanks for stopping by. Hugs and prayers, Pat
