Hurricane Ike is Coming Right At Us!
I returned to Houston yesterday morning only to find out the hurricane is headed our way. I made the decision to stay at the farm. I was suppose to drive to Dallas to cover the first horse show of the season for the magazine. I thought that I might just go for the Thursday and Friday classes, but was too worried that if Houston activated the counter flow lanes on the highways, I would have a difficult, if not almost impossible time getting back. I know I made the right choice. We have a complete weather station at our farm and are already having wind speeds of 25 MPH. I cannot imagine how high they are going to get when the eye passes over us in about 18 hours. I will update you as often as I can - and as long as I have power. Please keep us in your prayers.

Oh, Julie! You're in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there, girl, and be safe!!
Let us know when its over!
I've been a lurker for awhile. But I wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers. Be safe and let us know when it's all past.
Julie
I'm praying for you girl! I've been in your shoes one too many times. We were hit hard with Hurricane Ivan. With Katrina we were hurt again, especially our beaches since they weren't back to normal after Ivan. We still own two condos on the beach so we worry every hurricane season, even this one because of the wind and the water surge.
Stay safe. You're in my thoughts.
Hugs!
Kat
Oh my gosh, you're scaring me! I can't even imagine how you must feel! Stay safe! I hope your horses don't get too frighened!
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers Julie!
You will be in my thoughts!
Storms can be terrible disasters, or clear reminders that we need to always be prepared.
I wish I had more time to help more people in times of trouble, as yourself, but at least prayer is here to help you. I will say a special Rosary just for you and your farm.
peace and blessings upon you.
