A Family Heirloom

This is our family high chair. It was first used by my Mother, then by my brothers and I, then Emily and Joy, and now Madison uses it when she visits.

Many years ago, my sister-in-law, Adelaide refinished it and this last year my brother added this plaque under the seat.

...as you can tell by the dates, this high chair is over 80 years old.

This is a truly wonderful family hierloom.
Thanks for visiting me and leaving a comment, I think I may have been here before so I'm going to have a little look around now.

Just beautiful. I love family heirlooms and this one is pretty special. Love the plaque too!
(BTW your birth date is the same day we got married...St. Patty's Day.)

Hugs!

I love the chair. How awsome that this has been pasted down this long. Something to be so proud of.

Oh, I love the high chair. I always wanted a wooden one like this for my children but I never did get one. Probably couldn't afford it! :)
What a wonderful piece to hand down to others in your family....

What a great idea for heirlooms--a plaque. I have an old rocker that my grandmother rocked all of her children in so it's well over 80 years old. I had to have it repaired a few years ago, but at least you can sit in it now. Family heirlooms are a good thing. Love your's. Nancy

Good Morning Julie,
Oh my, I love this High Chair. It is so beautiful and in very good shape to be 80 years old. I love what your brother has done to it by putting the plaque under it. That is so unique. Such a great Family Heirloom for sure. "THANK YOU" for sharing it with us. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
