Have You Been On a Cruise?
If so - then PLEASE chime in!!! Before we get started on Don's new round of treatment, we are trying to arrange a 1 week cruise. ARRANGE is the key word here too since we have 8 horses... 8 sheep.. 4 dogs.. 2 inside cats.. 4 barn cats.. and 6 chickens.. we have to have someone come and live at the farm to take care of all the beasts. BUT - I will worry about those details later..
For now - we are trying to decide on a cruise...and we are looking at 2 Polar opposite types of trips.. Either the Eastern Carribean (St. Thomas.. St. Marteen.. etc.) or an Alaskan Cruise. In reality it all depends on several factors ..ie - what week Don can get off of work to do this... the price/relative to the type of room we would get...and the designated farm babysitters schedule!
If you have been on a cruise - please leave me a note and any advice you can think of.

I have been on three cruises, one in the Caribbean and two in Mexico. It all depends on what you are want the experience to be. You are so right about polar opposites. Different landscapes, different people, different shore excursions ... Ease of getting to the point of departure is a factor too. If I lived close to you and Don, I would come house and animal sit!
The good news is that I work for an airline...so I can get to almost any port to leave on a cruise!
We love to cruise. We have been on 6 cruises. You can't go wrong with either destination. I loved Alaska! Absolutely gorgeous! We went whale watching, saw bears, eagles, etc.
The Caribbean is wonderful too. Alot depends on the cruise line. Celebrity spoils you rotten, but it is a little pricier than Royal Caribbean and Carnival. They are great cruise lines, but we sailed Celebrity several times before we sailed Royal Caribbean and Princess.
Either place you choose, you will love cruising!
I hope you find the perfect one sweet friend.
Happy 4th!
Hugs,
Kat
I think you will enjoy either, but also factor in hurricane season in the gulf and Atlantic!!!! I vote Alaska!
You will LOVE cruising!! We've been to several, and each one is always better than the last. The great thing is that you get to relax when you want to, do when you want to, eat when you want to, drink if/when you want to. And The excursions are so much fun and are available for almost all physical abilities. They treat you like royalty. Dollar for dollar, cruises are the way to go.
No matter where you choose to go, you will have a blast!
Patricia :o)
PS: We've done 6 cruises on Royal Carribian. We love that line.
