Ummm - yeah. My surgeon called me at 6pm last night to postpone my surgery until next Monday - the 3rd of August. She has strep throat.
I understand it was not her fault and calling off the surgery was the best decision...but I was sooo very stressed about it. It takes a lot to psych yourself up for a big surgery...especially when you have to wait to have it done for over a month...and now another wait.
I won't say that I am scared of having the surgery...but I had a very vivid dream that I awoke from the operation with a beard! So saying that I am nervous would be an accurate statement!

Hang in there with the surgery! I can imagine how stressful this must be for you though. Oh my gosh, a beard? Ha ha, did you wake up and immediately feel your face?
I was told over Christmas '98, by my internist, that I would need major surgery, same as yours. My initial visit with the surgeon was scheduled for January 4. We had a huge snow storm January 3rd and for the first and only time, in living in the back pasture over 20 years....we were snowed in. It was January 31st before I went to surgery. That was the longest 6 or so weeks! So I know how you feel!
Good thoughts coming your way!
Julie, I was just finishing up with dinner and thinking this is the 27th, Julie should be done with her surgery and hopefully popping pain pills to get through the night. Darn, thats a shame that you have to wait with more anxiety for another week.
But I know you don't want strep throat so probably best that the doctor cancelled.
Don't want to take any chances with illness, so it was probably a good thing. Hope you can relax some while waiting for it this time. Went to the doctor myself today and will be getting an MRI to get to the bottom of my shoulder pain. Told him I wanted to know what the cause of the pain is before doing anything.
I think its pretty safe to assume you wont actually wake up with a beard.. you crack me up! do you want me to send you a razor just in case??
I know you werent disappointed about not having the surgery yesterday, but I know exactly what you mean about being psyched up and then not having it happen.. and now the wait again! eiy yie yie! well, do something fun while yours waiting!!
hugs

Bummer! All that work, buidling yourself up to do it and then the old "hurry up and wait" business. I hate that for you, I really do.
But you've got to stop dreaming of bearded ladies...especially when YOU are the bearded chick in question! (you made me laugh at that)
Hang in there! I'll be thinking of you.
